Technical SEO · Hosur

Your website looks fine. Google might disagree.

A site can look perfect in your browser while being invisible to Google: indexing errors, duplicate URLs, broken canonicals, missing schema, slow mobile pages. The owner never knows, because nothing looks broken. Customers just stop arriving. We find these problems and fix them in the right order.

The problem nobody sees: a real Hosur example

Design Intend's website looked perfect in every browser. But it existed in two versions at once (www and non-www) with duplicate URLs for every page. Google saw multiple copies, trusted none, and quietly dropped the site to near-zero indexing. We fixed the canonicals, redirects and sitemap. The site recovered fully, then went on to rank for "architects in Hosur" and generate leads worth multiple lakhs. The owner had no idea anything was wrong, because nothing looked wrong. The six technical problems most common in Hosur business websites

After reviewing dozens of Hosur business websites, the same problems keep appearing. None of them are visible in a browser. They are invisible until you look at how Google actually reads the site.

Duplicate website versions. The most damaging problem. Many Hosur sites load on both www.yourbusiness.com and yourbusiness.com as two separate addresses. Google sees duplicate copies of every page, gets confused about which is the real one, and quietly stops ranking either version well. This is exactly what happened to Design Intend, a Hosur architecture firm. Their site had been live for months but sat near-zero on Google. A canonical tag fix and a single redirect rule resolved it within two weeks.

No Google Search Console setup. GSC is a free Google tool that shows which pages are indexed, which have crawl errors, and which keywords bring visitors. Most Hosur business owners have never opened it. Without it, you might have 40 pages blocked from indexing right now and have no way to know.

Missing schema markup. Schema is structured code that tells Google and AI engines exactly what your business is, where it is located, what it charges, and what your hours are. Without it, AI tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity cannot reliably identify you as a Hosur business. They may skip you entirely or guess wrongly. Adding schema is usually a few hours of work with immediate structural benefits for both Google and AI visibility.

Slow mobile pages. Around 80% of Indian internet users access websites on mobile phones. If a page takes more than 3 seconds to load, more than half of those visitors leave before seeing anything. Large uncompressed photos are the most common cause. Basic image optimisation or a hosting upgrade can bring load times from 8 seconds down to under 2.

JavaScript-only content. Some websites built on certain page builders show their content using JavaScript. Google can usually read this. AI crawlers like Perplexity's bot often cannot. If your service descriptions only exist inside JavaScript, they are invisible to AI search entirely. Plain HTML content with schema markup is the most reliable format for both search engines and AI crawlers.

Pages blocked by accident. A robots.txt file tells search engines what pages to ignore. Developers sometimes add rules to block a staging environment and forget to remove them when the site goes live. We have seen Hosur sites with their entire service section blocked from Google by a line the business owner did not know existed.

Questions businesses ask about technical SEO

Why is my website not showing on Google at all?
Usually technical: pages blocked from indexing, duplicate site versions (www and non-www both live), broken canonicals, or a sitemap never submitted. The site looks fine in a browser the whole time, which is why owners never know. Our free check finds it in minutes.
What does the audit cost?
Technical SEO audit from ₹7,500: full crawl, Search Console analysis, speed and mobile review, schema check, top-10 fix list. Complete digital presence audit including local SEO and AI discoverability from ₹15,000.
What is schema markup and do I need it?
Code that tells Google and AI systems exactly what your business is, where it is and what it offers. It powers rich results and AI citations. Most Hosur websites have none, making it one of the highest-return fixes available.
Does speed really affect rankings?
Twice over. Google uses Core Web Vitals as a ranking factor, and slow sites lose visitors before loading. Most mobile users abandon pages over 3 seconds. We target under 2.
Do you fix the issues or just report them?
Both. Take the fix list to your own developer, or have us implement it. Implementation is quoted after the audit, so you know what each fix costs before deciding.
What is a Core Web Vital exactly?
Core Web Vitals are three speed and usability scores Google measures: LCP (how long your main content takes to appear on screen), INP (how fast the page responds to a tap or click), and CLS (whether things jump around on screen while loading). Google uses these as ranking factors. A page with a poor score ranks lower than a similar page that responds quickly. Most Hosur websites have never been tested for these.
My website is on Wix or Squarespace — can it be optimised?
Partially. Both platforms allow you to set page titles, descriptions and some basic technical settings. Schema markup and advanced fixes are limited compared to custom-built sites. If you are on Wix and technically healthy otherwise, we can optimise what is accessible. If the platform itself is the core problem (usually slow loading on mobile), the honest answer is that a site move may help more than optimisation within the platform.
What is a canonical tag?
A canonical tag tells Google which version of a URL is the "real" one. It is crucial when the same content is accessible at multiple addresses, like with www and non-www versions of a site. Without canonical tags, Google may split ranking signals between two versions of the same page instead of giving one strong result. This is exactly the problem that buried the Design Intend website in Hosur before we fixed it and it recovered fully.
How do AI bots crawl my website?
AI crawlers like Perplexity's bot, GPTBot (OpenAI) and Anthropic's ClaudeBot crawl less frequently than Google and are more focused on reading text cleanly. They struggle with JavaScript-rendered content and work best with plain HTML. Checking your robots.txt file to make sure AI bots are not accidentally blocked is a 5-minute task that most website owners have never done. We check this as part of every technical audit.
Does my website need an SSL certificate?
Yes. An SSL certificate means your website address starts with https:// instead of http://. Google has flagged non-HTTPS sites as "Not Secure" since 2018 and uses HTTPS as a ranking factor. Most modern hosting providers include SSL free of charge. If your site still shows http://, every visitor sees a security warning in their browser, and Google treats the site as less trustworthy.
How do I know if Google has indexed all my pages?
The fastest way is to type site:yourwebsite.com in Google — the number of results gives a rough count of indexed pages. The accurate way is Google Search Console under the "Pages" section: it shows exactly which pages are indexed, which have errors, and which are excluded and why. If you do not have Search Console set up, you are operating blind. Setup takes 10 minutes and is completely free.
What is Google Search Console and do I need it?
Google Search Console (GSC) is a free Google tool that shows how your website performs in Google search: which queries bring visitors, which pages have indexing errors, and whether Google has noticed any problems. It is the most important free SEO tool for any business with a website. Without it, you cannot see what Google sees. Every OptiScale audit begins by reviewing GSC data, or setting it up if it is missing.
